Playtime New York 2026: Texbrasil Companies Showcase Brazilian Children’s Fashion

Between February 8 and 10, 2026, the Texbrasil Program (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), participated in Playtime and Kid’s Hub NY, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, in New York, United States.

The initiative brought five brands supported by Texbrasil to the event: Camu-Camu, Dalai, Lilies & Roses, Planet Sea and Melissa Mini (Abicalçados). They carried out 143 business contacts with buyers from the United States, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. In terms of results, including immediate sales and expectations generated, the estimated value of business reached US$ 480 thousand.

The Brazilian presence takes place in a market with high demand in the children’s segment. In 2025, global consumption of children’s clothing reached approximately US$ 286.2 billion. The United States accounted for around US$ 54.6 billion, equivalent to 19.1% of the global total. In the baby fashion segment, U.S. imports totaled approximately US$ 2 billion in 2024, representing a 5% increase compared to the previous year, and in the same year more than 92% of these imports came from Asian countries.
