Nine Brazilian companies attended the S/S ’18 edition of Premiere Vision Paris, one of the largest shows in Europe geared towards suppliers of textile products and inputs, held from February 7 to 9. The group, which included Berlan, Britannia, Cataguases, Dash Studio, Digitale Textil, Moltec, Natural Cotton Color, Oficina Lamparina and Savyon, did USD 100,000 in business during the event, with the support of Texbrasil – Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – with expectations to do USD 4.7 million in business over the next 12 months.

One of the Brazilian highlights at the show was the Natural Cotton Color brand of Paraiba, which showed its products at two spaces at Premiere Vision and was a hit with major European labels. At Maison D’Exceptions, a space exclusively for luxury brand guests, the brand showed 14 samples of artisanal techniques exhibited in an innovative way, in addition to a blazer and shirt set developed in partnership with fashion designer Joao Pimenta, while in the design sector it showed fabrics, knits and prints in organic colored cotton. “We welcomed a lot of brands from Milan, but we continue doing business with the French houses. We were also visited by a major American brand, with which we are negotiating two of our items that are completely handmade and with very high added value,” says Francisca Vieira, CEO of NCC.

Also celebrating the results of the event is the co-founder of Dash Studio, Rafael Santos: “we are very happy with our participation; it exceeded our expectations. The studio was a huge hit due to our unique trait, which is the result of directed research with a Brazilian DNA adapted to the international market. We did great business with national and international customers,” he says. The Balneario Camboriu (Santa Catarina) studio sold some prints to the Inditex group, which holds brands such as Stradivarius and Zara. “We believe that our participation in the show will continue to bear fruit even after it is over,” says the designer.

While Britannia Textil, which took part in PV Paris for the eighth time running, celebrated the success of its Tresse-Elastico launch, an innovative notion recommended for beachwear and trouser products. “We welcomed apparel makers from nine countries – including Israel, Russia and Poland – in addition to achieving significant growth in the French market,” says the company’s CCO, Ana Cristina Veloso. “We were very happy to once again welcome some renowned brands at this edition with whom we have done business at past editions – such as Louboutin, Yves Delorme and Princesse Tam Tam, among others – who were looking for our launches for this season,” the executive adds.

The next Premiere Vision Paris, which has traditionally been held twice annually since 1973, is already scheduled for September 19.
