The Congress will feature the experience of various fashion industry executives and professionals, bringing together the most important and strategic topics in the textile and apparel industry. “Day-to-day we talk with executives and listen to their complaints and needs. There are companies of all sizes, from every segment, but we see that the challenges are the same. How can we innovate? Where should we invest? It was designed to help answer these questions, in a way that is customized to the industry; that is why we created the Abit Congress,” explains Rafael Cervone, the Association’s CEO.

The event will feature a macroeconomic panorama and perspectives for Brazil and the world; there will be discussions on where retail is headed and on fashion cases of success; it will focus on the issue of Startups and if it is really time to join one, in addition to discussing innovation in materials, processes and business models. The idea is for the initiative to bring strategic information together that incorporate all of segments in the textile chain, from producers of fibers to spinning mills, weaving mills, sales to end consumers, universities, researchers and government institutions. “We are bringing in major national and international speakers for each topic. People that can really contribute and especially inspire entrepreneurs for the coming years of success of their companies,” says Fernando Pimentel, the managing director of Abit.

The first edition is relying on support from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), through the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program (Texbrasil), which Abit executes in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The conference will be held every two years, in different cities in Brazil.
