Rhodia bets on more sustainable solutions for the industry

08/30/2022

Present in several markets, Rhodia Brasil, a company of the Solvay group, aims to develop more sustainable products and solutions. The brand of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has a sustainability program since 2007 and, every year, it seeks to develop actions that contemplate different UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Among the company‘s initiatives is the launch of the smart textile yarn with antiviral properties, which helps protect from the coronavirus, right at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020.

Another solution is Amni Soul Eco, already in use in clothing across the country, which accelerates the biodegradation of polyamide after disposal.

In response to the industry’s demand to reduce the use of fossil-based raw materials, Rhodia has also created polyamide made partially from a renewable source. The company also accumulates international awards for practices and programs for the conservation of the biodiversity surrounding the Paulínia unit, in the countryside of São Paulo.
