Rio de Janeiro trade shows welcome Texbrasil brands and international buyer

In recent weeks, the state of Rio de Janeiro has hosted two major apparel trade shows, which have gathered thousands of visitors, national and international buyers, and exhibitors, including member companies of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil).

The Salao Bossa Nova showroom was held from the July 29 to 31, at the Royal Tulip hotel. Attending the event were the Alessa, Victor Dzenk, Blue Man, CCM and Lucidez labels. The Program was responsible for bringing buyers from the Lunas Intimo (Italy), Fio D’Agua (Portugal), Maria de Sol Fitness & Bikinis (Uruguay), Vila Baboushka (Egypt) and Lemonaki (Chile) stores, among others.

According to organizers, the Summer 2015 edition reached the expected targets, with 60 exhibitors and over 300 VIP buyers, carrying out business with brands such as Lucidez.”It was a very good trade show. We gained six new clients.We really like this format with the more select buyers,” says Adriana Fontenele, the brand’s Commercial Manager.

The city of Nova Friburgo, in Rio de Janeiro, known as a center for apparel production, hosted Fevest, from August 2 to 4. The event featured beachwear, fitness and lingerie collections from 100 exhibitors, including, De Chelles, Roupa de Baixo, Lucitex, Sapeka Lingerie, Coltex, Delfa, Rosset, TDB Textil and Zanotti. Three international buyers came to the country as Program guests: from Italy were Lenia Monica, of Lilium Rios Lingerie, and Regina Batista, of Lunas Intimo; and Audrey Batista, of Dejardim, came from the United States.

“Each year the event has a better presentation and the number of visitors just keeps growing. We estimated a 20% increase in business volume.We find customers from across Brazil, from Amapa to Rio Grande do Sul, and from other countries.We have sent business to Italy, the United States and Venezuela,” says Felipe Bortolotti, Export Manager for Sapeka Lingerie, which used the trade show to celebrate the company’s 15 year anniversary with a new collection.
