Santaconstancia goes with sustainability and better performance

Santaconstancia Tecelagem, a member brand of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), is presenting new fabrics in its “CO2CONTROL” line, a family of products launched in late 2014 that align comfort with respect for the environment. The “Link-(CO2),” X-Fit-(CO2)®” and “Light Indigo- (CO2)®” items are now on the market with a sustainable concept. Their makeup contains the world’s first biodegradable polyamide, “Amni Soul Eco,” developed in Brazil by Rhodia.

Well known by athletes, “Link-(CO2)®” is a double light fabric that is conducive to thermal exchange, preventing the humid-sticky effect. As a result, the athlete expends less energy and can gain more speed. Chlorine, salt and solar resistant fabrics are another sports technology that has been expanded in the “CO2CONTROL” line. Constructed using elastic “lastol XLA™” fibers that are made using petroleum, the properties of these high-resistance products do not change when exposed to adverse situations.

For the fashion segment, the company is innovating with “Light Indigo- (CO2)®,” an elastic fabric with fade-able indigo dye. This fabric has a jeans-like appearance. Made of a mix of cotton, “Amni Soul Eco®” polyamide and “Lastol,” “Tricoline Summer-(CO2)®” is recommended for lighter pieces. Structured using minimalist applications, “Radiosa Premium-(CO2)®” contains the “Tencel” fiber, which allows the fabric to be composted when discarded under the appropriate conditions.
