Santaconstancia, a weaving company founded in 1948 by Italian Gabriela Pascolato, is preparing for the 2015 edition of the Brazil S/A Showroom, taking place from April 14 to May 24. The event is held in Milan and is geared towards building relations between companies and professionals in the areas of architecture, interior design, design and arts & crafts, creating interaction between the Brazilian and international publics. The highlight this year is the Happy Brazil exhibit, a series of prints developed by 15 artists and designers, who were inspired by Brazilian fauna and flora in the creative process.

Costanza Pascolato, Style Director at Santacostancia, is among the creators of the prints, as are designers Patricia Motta, Victor Dzenk and Helo Rocha, all of whom are members of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Designers Gustavo Greco, Yassin Lahmar, Rita Lessa, Fabio Gurjao, Regina Preto, Kleber Matheus, Vanessa da Silva and Tereza Santos also created prints, along with fashion designer Renata Manso, illustrator Filipe Jardim and artist Angie Marie Pessoa Taillandier.

All of the prints were printed on Light-(CO2)® biodegradable fabric, which is part of a family of products developed by Santaconstacia using very environmentally friendly production processes. Light-(CO2) is a fabric with the properties of the Amni Soul Eco ® fiber, the world’s first biodegradable polyamide. Now, with the fiber’s technology, 50% of the item decomposes in the first year and in 3 years it will decompose entirely when disposed of in a landfill.
