Sao Paulo hosts nanotechnology and innovation events
From November 9 to 11, the Nano Tradeshow and Venture Capital Expo will bring together representatives from industry, companies, scientists, researchers, universities, startups and investors from Brazil and abroad. The events are being held simultaneously at Centro de Eventos Pro Magno, in the city of Sao Paulo, with institutional support from Abit.
The Nano Trade Show – the only international nanotechnology and innovation trade show in Brazil – will gather 53 exhibitors and developers. They will be showing the latest trends, ideas, products and services for application in various industrial segments, including: textile, mining, oil & gas, energy, food, automotive, aeronautics, health, pharmaceuticals, hygiene and cosmetics. The schedule includes sector-focused workshops and seminars.
Sharing the same expo center, the Venture Capital Expo is being held for the first time. Around 30 startups from various segments will have the chance to show innovations, concepts and products to investors, incubators and industry representatives. Business talks organized by Sebrae will function as a development tool.
In parallel with the shows, the 1st PITCh – Prize for Innovation with Key Technologies is being held, geared towards recognizing, creating publicity for and backing professionals, companies and universities or institutions whose innovations were able to create direct benefits for the industry and, as a result, for society. The winners will be named by a select committee made up of specialists from organizations such as the Center of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology – CIETEC, the National Offices of Sebrae, the Brazilian Association of Industrial Development – ABDI and the National Association of Research and Development of Innovation Companies – ANPEI, among others.
According to Viviane Ferreira, director of HEWE, an organizing company that has partnered with Fundacao Certi and Nanobusiness, 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the event. Business volume should be around BRL 20 million.
The two shows and their co-located attractions are part of the Sao Paulo Tech Week, Week of Technology and Innovation, promoted by the city of Sao Paulo.
