Sarau came up in the ‘cerrado’ region, state of Goiás, in 2019, with the proposal of creating apparel pieces that are comfortable for people, regardless the gender or size. The brand’s purpose is developing, together with its collaborators, conditions for democratic and conscious use of fashion, counting on inclusive fashion design, sustainable processes and fabrics, in addition to technologies, such as sun protective clothing. Garments of the brand are double faced, with hidden seams and several options for lacings, enabling several use modes.

The company is currently starting the internationalization process, and thus joined Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).

The brand differentials include, among others within the sustainability scope, products that fit on different body shapes, valuing diversity, sizes 34 to 58, and exhibiting this in their visual communications. In addition, the company values the strengthening of local business ventures, and support to women in social vulnerability conditions.

‘The company has been consulted, in an organic way, for support in exportation. Product designs and values related to sustainability and representativeness are welcomed abroad, and had good acceptance, especially in the European market,” explains Renata Prado, Commercial Director at Sarau. She also comments that the company is interested in attending international tradeshows and participating in other business promotion services, such has marketplaces, missions and coaching activities sponsored by Texbrasil.

In regard to sustainability, Sarau does not use any kind of plastic materials in the composition of products. Jerseys are made of technological fabric, which fiber used is a biodegradable polyamide. Casual wear parts are made of plain fabric, made of natural fibers, such as cotton and linen – all of them certified – or certified rayon, made from reforesting wood. “Sarau counts on Oeko Tex and EcoVero labels. We are also Sou de algodão and Eu Reciclo partners,” completes Renata.

The company produces two to three collections a year, one of them being a capsule. Sarau performs e-commerce activities, has one physical store located in Goiânia, at Avenida 85, número 420, Setor Sul.
