Six Brazilian children’s fashion brands participate in the Children’s Club
As of September 1, six Brazilian brands participate in Children’s Club with the support of Texbrasil, Fashion Label, and Brazilian Footwear, internationalization programs carried out through partnerships between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency), Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association), ABEST (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers), and Abicalçados (Brazilian Footwear Industries Association), respectively.
The brands participating with Texbrasil are Tip Top, Planet Sea, Dalai, and Renata Carlotto, in addition to the member of Fashion Label Brasil, I Am Just for Little, and Brazilian Footwear brand Klin. This is the first digital edition of the Children’s Club, which had its physical version canceled due to the pandemic. The tradeshow will be located on the NuOrder platform, where it will take place for two months.
According to the executive manager of Texbrasil, Lilian Kaddissi, the Brazilian children’s fashion market has a lot of potential for export. “Brazil’s brands are original and highlight the country’s plurality. The children’s market follows this trend, and Children’s Club is a great platform for brands to show their originality”, she believes.
The digital environment also offers new opportunities, as highlighted by Abicalçados Project manager, Letícia Sperb Masselli. “Today the companies need to act on both fronts, physical and digital, otherwise they will not survive in an increasingly competitive and digitalized market”, she says.
New markets
Specialist in beach and resort fashion, Dalai noticed an opportunity in the children’s segment and decided to invest in the area. “We started with a few pieces in the “mommy and me” wave, and we did international fairs. With these few more elaborate pieces, we noticed a gap in the kids’ market for resortwear”, explains the stylist and creator of the brand, Aline Moreira.
The pieces started to have high demand, which made the brand bet on its own collection. Dalai already has customers in the segment at various points in the United States, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, and intends to expand the operation in the country with participation in the event.
