Skazi is purchased by AMC Têxtil group
Minas Gerais-based brand Skazi is now a part of the companies owned by the Menegotti family, which holds brands like Colcci, Forum and Triton under its AMC Têxtil group. The purchase was made official on November 1. Nevertheless, the Minas Gerais-based company’s structure will remain unchanged. Vander Martins and Ana Paola Murta continue at the helm of the label, with Eduardo Amarante staying on as Creative Director.
The Group is a member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
According to Ana Paola Murta, the Skazi DNA will stay the same. “We still have our same purpose, which is to increasingly work for a brand with a human soul and warmth. The factory will remain in Belo Horizonte. The sales team, creative team and employees will also be kept. The change in ownership does not change our values and principles. Skazi will continue its essence, which is seeking vibrant and timeless fashion,” says Murta.
Skazi
Founded in 1993 by Ana Paola Murta and Vander Martins, Skazi began when the partners invested in creation, technology and enhancement at its predecessor, Club do Fio, making it necessary to change the name of the brand. Later, designer Eduardo Amarante took over the creative team, definitively consolidating the label in the womenswear segment.
