Swimshow and Destination: up to USD 3 million expected in business results

Brazil was present in Swimshow with 14 Brazilian brand exhibitors in the event, supported by Texbrasil (Program for Internationalization of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry), a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments) and Abit (Brazilian Association of the Textile and Apparel Industry). The companies did more than USD 609 thousand in business transactions, with expected return of USD 2.5 million over the next 12 months.

Brands  Alto Giro, Areia Branca, Blue Man, By Silvia Schaefer, Despi, Fabi Freixo, Guria Beachwear, Karla Vivian Beach Brazil, Lybethras, Maryssil by Larissa Minatto, Mer Bleu Resort Wear, Nhall Resort Wear, Planet Sea, Rio de Sol, Sea Brazil and Slama executed 740 new agreements with the purchasers attending the tradeshow. The result of this edition exceeded the previous edition figures, when ten companies participated and generated USD 286 thousand in business transactions, with expected return of USD 1.495 million and 584 contacts established.

One of the companies that succeeded in doing business was Rio de Sol. The representative Gatteri celebrates the result above the expectations, including key agreements with purchasers from the USA, Caribbean, UAE and Singapore. “The tradeshow organization was excellent and Texbrasil support was essential for our success in the event,” he completes.

Diogo Monteiro, representative of Areia Branca, commented that Texbrasil team was essential for the company to resume its internationalization process, by providing contributions during all the steps of participation in the event. “Brazilian beachwear is a world reference and we want to get more and more attention in the Miami fashion week,” he explains.

For Lilian Kaddissi, executive Superintendent of strategic projects at Abit, this result reinforces not only the relevance of this business platform, but also the format of this Brazilian fashion segment. “We are happy with the growth in the number of companies attending the event and with its positive results”, she concludes.

Swimshow occurred on July 8-10, and is considered the most important tradeshow for beachwear in the US East Coast, integrating the Miami fashion week. Conducted once a year, it attracts more than 7.5 thousand purchasers, manufacturers, designers, press, influencers, fashion consultants, stylists and other leaders of the fashion industry from 60+ countries worldwide, to exhibit brands and create business opportunities.

Premium brands participated in Destination

Eleven Brazilian brands participated in Destination, a show that brings together international beachwear, resort, casual and accessories brands, with a focus on premium buyers. The event is curated for new designers and is also part of Miami Beach Fashion Week.

The brands Women Swim, Viviane Furrier, Irá Salles, Maria Pavan, Nadia Gimenes, Blanca Leone Jewelry, B.Label, Priscilla Whitaker Shoes, Cristina Sabatini were present. Mos Beach Wear and Gapaz. They made a total of USD 206,000 in business, with an expected return of USD 486,000 and 176 new contacts.

Edson Gomes, representative of Viviane Furrier, reveals that the company’s participation in the event was a success, with great acceptance of the brand by buyers. “The colors and details of the pieces caught the attention of visitors. We received boutiques, online stores and large department stores,” he adds.

Isabel Schmidt, from B.Label, explains that Texbrasil’s support was very important for the brand’s participation in Destination. “We are a small company and this was the first step in our export process to the international market. We intend to participate in more events with the Program”, concludes Isabel.
