Texbrasil beachwear brands celebrate their participation at Surf Expo
The year began frenetic with the return of tradeshows from various segments. In the beach and sportswear fashion, it was not different, and the Surf Expo took over Orlando, in the United States, from January 5 to 7, with the participation of brands from Texbrasil (Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Returning to the trade show, the brands Guria Beachwear and Rio de Sol are satisfied with the result of the event. The companies raised USD 40,000 in business during Surf Expo, and they foresee another USD 300,000 in the next 12 months.
For Camila Ckless, partner manager of Guria, the main positive point of the event were the immediate purchases. “The buyer that were there was very qualified and we received several orders, even at the tradeshow. Not to mention that the event encompasses buyers from different regions from those who attend Miami trade shows, for example”, the executive comments.
For Rio de Sol, the audience was also a highlight, especially the international ones. “We had the return of international clients, such as from the Caribbean and Central America,” as stated by Gian Guatteri, the president of Rio de Sol. The beachwear brand had already participated in the September 2021 edition, which was still affected by travel restrictions.
Among the visitors highlighted by the companies are buyers from the United States, Bahamas and Aruba.
Gian also highlights that the trade show is perfect for those who want to work in the branch of beachwear in the U.S., for having two editions per year. According to him, the two trade shows – in January and September – allow the companies to work on more collections. In particular, the January event attracts more buyers, as it is one of the few from the segment in the country on the date.
The next edition of Surf Expo should take place between September 8 and 10, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
