Texbrasil brands had sales of over USD 370,000 at Mode City

The 32nd edition of Mode City, a show geared towards beachwear and underwear, wrapped up last Monday (July 6), at Porte de Versailles, in Paris. With around 450 companies from 40 countries attending, the show drew visits from 15,200 buyers and 400 press members.

Nine Brazilian brands showed at the event with the support of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency): Blue Man, Bia Brazil, 2Rios, Kiminis, Acquaclub, Intensify.me, Britannia, Despi and Desiree Nercessian. Together, the Brazilian companies did around USD 371,700 in business and expect to bring in USD 2.31 million in the next 12 months.

According to Claudio Zanetti, CEO of Acquaclub, the show was important to reinforce contacts made at previous editions. “Last year, there was a buyer interested in our products, but he wanted a bikini collection that was more tailored to his public. We began production and introduced the line at this edition,” says Zanetti. Another brand highlighted at the event was Intensify.Me, which was invited by show organizers to be part of the brands selected for the fashion show area. “We have taken part in the show since 2013, with better and better results,” says designer Priscila Gomide.

Focused on digital prints and Brazilian tropicalism, Blue Man caught the attention of many international stores. “The show was great. We think that it is possible to stand out in the middle of so much competition by using unique elements. And taking part in the Brazilian Bikini Shop Summer Limited pop-up store on the French Riviera only strengthened our distribution in Europe, in addition to showing that we are already established on the continent,” said Priscila Lago, the brand’s export manager, in closing.
