Texbrasil (the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) is launching yet another service to assist companies in the exporting process: supporting inclusion in international showrooms. Andrea Marques, Colcci, Aua, Adriana Degreas, T.Arrigoni, GIG, Patricia Bonaldi and Patricia Motta are the first to participate in the initiative, which covers markets in the United States and France. The Andrea Marques, Aua and T.Arrigoni labels are being featured at the FiftyTwo showroom in New York. “I am sure that this is an excellent time to introduce our name in the American market. This is a long-term investment that requires special care in relation to the brand’s positioning,” says designer Andrea Marques. Also in New York, Showroom 212 is hosting Colcci, while Patricia Bonaldi is displaying dresses at Seven. In Paris, GIG and Patricia Motta are representing Brazil at Fabre; and Adriana Degreas is showing beachwear at Ana Luiza Fashion Office.

Evilasio Miranda, Texbrasil’s Fashion and Design Manager, says that the showrooms provide for long-term business and complement initiatives that have already been consolidated after joining the Program. “We noticed a need to offer brands the chance to have a more wide-ranging commercial presence abroad. In addition to taking part in trade shows, which are an efficient business promotion tool, inclusion in a permanent showroom opens up access to a portfolio of qualified clients, oftentimes in conjunction with distribution services and even financing for orders,” says Miranda, who also believes that international buyers gain a greater sense of security buying a brand backed by a showroom.
