The 11th edition of Minas Trend Preview (MTP), held between November 20 and 23, in Belo Horizonte, indicated a gradual recovery in sales for 2013. This edition featured 234 exhibitors, which is 18% over the previous one. Seven journalists and four international buyers were present, giving their approval to their fair and the parades. They were invited by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program) held by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The French magazine reporter Wad Thomas Renard made a positive comment on the collections presented. He said that production in Brazil has its own personality: “this is my first time in your country, and I can see a beautiful mix of colors, cultural influences and sense of humor”, he said.

Sergio Lourenco, Fiemg’s superintendent, director of the event, believes the biggest challenge of this edition was the financial situation of the world market, and says:  “we estimate that the business conducted in this issue must reach the same level of the previous A/W season, with a good chance of overcoming it”.  According to him, the concerned scenario shows the aforementioned recovery of losses that occurred in the textile sector. “We believe that the event met its goal of enhancing the business space and increasing the qualification of buyers”, he concludes.
