Trendt’s Renan Serrano develops exclusive fabric in new collection

The starting point for Renan Serrano to create the no. 8 collection for Trendt, a member brand of BtoBe, a new talent incubator at Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), was a focus on a new type of fashion that fits with the behavioral shift in society, with the goal of creating eveningwear compatible with these new tastes.

The entire line was developed using just one fabric, made using a cupro base (a textile fiber extracted from the oak tree [Cu(NH3)4](OH)2) and with a weave constructed using nanoknitting. The process, which features artisanal and technological in harmony, is exclusive to Trendt. “In addition to the creative process inherent to each detail of the garment, I was not bogged down by established styles. Empirically, I sought feedback from customers until arriving at evening gowns, made for few women, who appreciate comfort and innovation. My products make the consumer a key part of the environment; it is a symbiosis between acceptance and cultural positioning,” says the designer.

The campaign is the result of the photographic eye of Nicole Heiniger and stylist Renata Correa, two professionals that had the chance to work without a being given a briefing by the brand. “Just as the items in the collection were constructed, Renata and Nicole did a ‘moulage’ during the photo shoot, feeling how each fold of fabric could influence the clothes. The result is this sensitive, pure and human work,” says Renan in closing.
