Uruguay and Argentina Roadshow generates USD 245,000 in business deals for participating companies
From May 21 to 25, representatives from the Petit Cherie, Lupo, Trifil, Kyly, Brandili, Fakini, Farm, Blueman, Rio de Sol and YD Confecções brands took part in a roadshow visiting Argentina and Uruguay. The roadshow was organized by the team at Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Executives generated USD 245,000 in business during the trip to the cities of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Punta del Leste (Uruguay) and are expecting an additional USD 1.5 million over the next 12 months. The Program team set up an agenda tailored to each company, which resulted in meetings between local buyers and participating companies who had matching profiles.
Michele Sponton, Foreign Trade Supervisor at Lupo, says that the experience of going to the customer added a lot to negotiations: “It was amazing to learn about the stores’ structure and facilities; it was really fruitful. After one week, we were already seeing results. We’ve even had orders made.”
According to Milena Graciola de Cristo, of Brandili, the individualized service with stores of different sizes added to enhancement of the brand’s strategy on how to approach businesses. “We held very diverse meetings, at stores where we were even in contact with the customers, at major chains, with impeccable operational structures. It was a very rich experience,” she says.
