Vicunha brings Brazilian denim to Bangladesh

For the third time in a row, Vicunha Textil was at the Denimsandjeans trade show, held March 1 and 2 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.The weaving company was the only non-Asian company showing and was one of the major highlights of the event, showing items that offer flexibility, recovery and aesthetic functionality.At this edition, the brand also took part in Fashionim, a fashion show held by the main exhibitors at the show.Products such as those from the “Athletic Denim & Color” line were shown.

Prominent among new items featured were new product launches, including Perfect Fit, a super “smart” line that provides perfect recovery, and “Emana® Slim,” which uses bioactive crystal technology with serge fabrics, stimulating microcirculation of blood flow and cellular metabolism.

Thomas Dislich, Director of Vicunha Europe and Asia, also took part in a roundtable on sustainability with Italian denim stalwarts Adriano Goldschmied and Piero Turk, reinforcing the environmentally-friendly position of the company, known for being the only manufacturer to offer production that uses 100% BCI cotton.

Denimsandjeans includes participation by major international manufacturers, in addition to visits by companies and buyers such as Benetton, C&A, Esprit, H&M and Hermés.This edition gathered over 1,300 visitors from 400 companies worldwide, including top retail executives, national managers of major department stores, designers and traders.The Vicunha stand was visited by brands like G-Star, Zara, American Eagle and Gap.

Exporting 30% to 35% of its production to over 80 countries, the weaving company has just opened an office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where it should also be opening a showroom soon.The company currently has factories in Brazil, Ecuador and Argentina, in addition to other business offices in Colombia, Asia and Europe that are responsible for bringing its products to the entire world.
