Vicunha has a presence on the catwalks of Dragao Fashion Brasil

04/12/2013

Mar del Castro, Jadson Ranieri, Jeferson Ribeiro and Lindebergue Fernandes choose Vicunha indigos and twills to compose their collections to be presented at Dragao Fashion Brasil lineup, between April 13 and 18, in Fortaleza (CE). With strong regional influence in the Northeast Region of Brazil combined to personal artistic references, the four stylists intend to take different narratives to their fashion shows, in a mix of materials and handcrafted textures combined with jeanswear. The brand is participant of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and takes to the event their main releases.

On Sunday, 14, Jadson Ranieri will present his collection inspired by birds, with the presence of pheasant feathers reused from “other carnivals”, stones and lots of prints. The tailoring is full of textures and blends the Vicunha twills with cold wool, velvet, jacquard, brocade and mesh to create maximalist and loose parts.  On the same day, the brand Mar del Castro, by Andre Castro, will bring his collection named Ecos do Mangue (Echoes of the Mangrove), inspired by the Coco River and its mangrove, which accompanies it until debouching into the sea. The Pequi (green) and Tangerine (yellow) color denims of the ECO-D Vicunha line will compose some of the vibrant looks of the collection. With an ecological bias, polyester is derived from recycled PET bottles, and its dyeing process saves 80% water. Productions in crochet, lace and woven straw are also part of the collection, in combination with lighter denim shorts, with Natalie indigo, of the Vicunha Linen Denim line, blending flax yarn to cotton, and also with pants and shorts on the Plus Bari base, natural-looking.

On Monday, it’s time for Jeferson Ribeiro and Lindebergue Fernandes to present their collections. The result of Jeferson’s creative work, according to him, is an elegant woman who believes her body is not a carrier of excess or mechanical device, so it needs well-designed, minimalist pieces, using Vicunha noble satin. As to Lindebergue, he thought of nostalgic references of the 70s and 80 in his collection with the theme Portao (Gate). Bolts and hinges will be part of the outfits with accessories combining with Vicunha indigos and twills which were the bases chosen by the designer for the differentiated modeling: extralarge and extracropped apron and samurai-pants. “The idea is to propose a reversal of silhouettes; we leave women with the volume at the bottom and, for men, the heavier weight goes to the shoulders, quite geometric and 80s”, he says.

For his collection, Lindeberg chose Hanna, Isabelle and Brenda denims, all with floral patterns and cotton/spandex base. Still in denim, Indigo with special finishes are highlighted. The Princess articles, which have sophisticated gloss on black base, and Strike, of the Vintage Leather line, ensure the urban footprint and sporty looks, gaining new possibilities from the laser texturing for innovation in the use of fabrics. As to twills chosen from the printed line, they were those from Alice and Swift floral patterns, with strong references to the 70s furniture, and Carbolumen Savana with texture and effect of ostrich skin.
