A group of 18 Brazilian companies celebrated the results of the latest edition of Who’s Next, which ended on January 28, in Paris. Under the Brasil Fashion System internationalization brand, the Brazilian presence was the result of a partnership between Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program – developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil), Abest (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers) and Abicalçados (Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries) with the support of Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

Texbrasil was responsible for bringing collections from Cyn, Gralias, Trendt, Spirodiro, Der Metropol, Helen Rodel and Karin Feller to the event, all of which are brands by fashion designers belonging to the BtoBe (Brazilians to Be) talent incubator, as well as premium labels PatBo, Anamaria Couture and Andre Ungaratto. “This is the second edition where we’ve shown the work of up and coming designers at the trade show and we already have substantial interest, especially from the Middle Eastern market. The profile of these brands is a very good fit with what buyers are looking for at Who’s Next,” says Evilasio Miranda, Manager of the Fashion and Design Center at Texbrasil. “The sales are the result of the consolidation of the work we’ve been developing. At the last edition, we were at the event and we learned about the market, allowing us to measure what we got right and wrong, so we were well prepared to participate in this edition. The results will tend to grow more and more,” says Karin Feller.

The traditional French trade show shows apparel and accessories collections from select labels. Over the four days, the participants supported by the Program made 114 contacts with retailers and wholesalers from countries such as Spain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, France, England, the United States, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Greece and Kuwait. The companies carried out 39 deals with total sales of USD 105,000 during the event, with expectations of over USD 1.1 million over the next twelve months. For Catia Macedo, Sales Manager at Anamaria Couture, this edition surpassed the last one in its ability to publicize the brand and in the quality of the public: “we had a huge return on image.”

Two thousand brands and around 55,000 visitors attended the event. The next edition will be held in July of this year.
