Coterie and Cabana trade shows generate US$ 22.8 million in business expectations for Brazilian brands

In September, twelve Brazilian companies took part in two important North American fashion fairs: the Cabana Show, from the beach fashion segment, held between September 16 and 18, and Coterie, directed to the female apparel and accessories segments, between September 17 and 19, both held in New York City (United States).

Counting on Texbrasil’s support (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil), brands Colcci, FARM, Liziane Richter, Maria Pavan, T. Arrigoni and PatBo, and also brands Cecilia Prado, Serpui Marie and Live!, which are affiliated to Fashion Label Brazil, organized by ABEST, closed business deals amounting to US$ 6.6 million during Coterie, with sales estimates of around US$ 22.3 million in the next 12 months.

For businesswoman Mariana Pavan, who manages the Maria Pavan brand from the State of Rio Grande do Sul, specialized in knitting products, Coterie exceeded her expectations, both in terms of business volume and the quality of purchasers. “Our products enjoyed great acceptance. Clients praised especially the design and value of our items. In addition to that, we made excellent contacts and sales”, she claimed.

FARM’S head of marketing, Taciana Abreu, told that that brand from Rio welcomed purchasers from all over the world: in addition to the United States, Canada, the UK, Mexico, the Bahamas, Lebanon and Japan. “People commend the Brazilian weather, perfumes, plants, music, and our vibe – our “borogodó” (a Brazilian way of being). And because of all that they have fallen in love with FARM’S garments, prints, colors, and Brazil”, she said.

As for beachwear brand Adriana Degreas, which is also affiliated to Texbrasil, they showed their 2018 Spring collection during the Cabana Show, held for the first time in New York, after four successful years in Miami Beach. “The experience of taking part in the Cabana show has always been highly positive. And bringing that trade fair format from Miami to NY City has been an excellent opportunity to develop new businesses”, said Adriana, who also told us that she welcomed in their booth boutiques from Australia, the United States, Egypt and the United Kingdom, and is already interested in taking part in the event’s next edition.

Degreas took part in the Cabana Show NY edition together with brands Isolda and Osklen, which counted on the Fashion Label Brazil’s support, the fashion export program established by ABEST in partnership with Apex-Brazil. In addition to US$ 163 thousand in business deals closed during the event, those brands have returned to Brazil with sales expectations of another US$ 500 thousand in the next 12 months.
