Brazilian companies celebrate business done at Who’s Next
Who’s Next, a trade show gathering womenswear, menswear and high added value accessories exhibitors that takes place twice annually in Paris (France), ended on September 5. Brazilian companies Handred, Maria Pavan and Vale da Seda attended with the support of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
And the companies are celebrating their results: together, they did around USD 126,000 in business and expect to bring in USD 140,000 in the next 12 months. Modern knitwear brand Maria Pavan, which presented its resort/2017 collection at the show, celebrated its move towards international expansion. “Our participation was good, especially because we found new customers in markets that we had yet to enter, such as the Arab Emirates. Moreover, we sold 10% more than last year,” says entrepreneur Mariana Pavan.
Collective brand Vale da Seda – created from a project of the same name developed at the Maringa Technology Incubator with the aim of implementing a platform for exporting silk items in the state – showed a capsule collection produced by five companies. “Our goal of checking our internationalization proposal for Parana brands by having Vale da Seda participate in Who’s Next was a complete success,” says Joao Berdu, the brand’s director.
He also says that the concern with sustainable production found around the world proved to be a major issue for European consumers: “the concept connected to carbon footprint has strong appeal in Europe.” Information on this point as well as on carbon sequestration created from individual production of each item is found on product tags.
The next edition of Who’s Next is set for January 20 to 23.
