Solvay opens applications for social and environmental projects in five Brazilian cities

05/25/2026

Solvay, a leading global multinational in the chemical sector and owner of the Rhodia brand in Brazil, has announced the opening of applications for the Ernest Solvay Fund 2026. The initiative seeks to support social, educational, and environmental projects in communities located around the company’s operations in the country.

Applications can be submitted until September 30, 2026, and are open to projects developed in the cities of São Paulo, Santo André, and Paulínia (SP), Curitiba (PR), and Imperatriz (MA), where the company maintains its own units or operates through the joint venture Peróxidos do Brasil.

The program offers funding of up to €10,000 per project to local organizations, educational institutions, and researchers operating within a 100-kilometer radius of the company’s facilities. Applications must be submitted in Portuguese and prioritize initiatives focused on science education (STEM), environmental preservation, biodiversity, health, and social inclusion.

According to the company, the goal is to encourage practical solutions with a direct impact on communities, aligned with Solvay’s global pillars of sustainability and social responsibility.

In the educational area, the fund seeks to expand access to science and technology education in a more inclusive way. Environmental projects should focus on themes such as water resource preservation, air quality, and natural resource conservation. Initiatives related to strengthening emotional health, generating economic opportunities, and community development may also be supported.

Created in 2013, the Ernest Solvay Fund has already invested more than €2 million globally, supporting 347 projects in different countries. The initiative is managed with the support of the King Baudouin Foundation and acts as an important incentive mechanism for projects that need initial funding to be implemented.

“The Ernest Solvay Fund represents the materialization of our purpose to foster social leadership. By investing in educational and environmental projects in the regions where we operate, Solvay is not only supporting institutions, but empowering citizens to build a more sustainable and resilient future for their own communities,” says Daniela Manique, president of the Solvay Group in Latin America.

In addition to the application form, the program’s official website includes technical information, eligibility criteria, and examples of initiatives supported in previous editions.
