The recognition highlights projects that combine innovation, textile technology, environmental preservation, and sustainability

Grupo Malwee was recognized at the 32nd edition of the Expressão de Ecology Award, one of the most long-standing environmental awards in Southern Brazil. The company received two “Onda Verde” (Green Wave) trophies for initiatives that reinforce its commitment to sustainability and demonstrate how innovation can contribute to a more responsible fashion industry.

Among the award-winning projects is Ar.voree, developed in partnership with the startup Xinterra. The initiative uses textile technology to transform garments into active agents for capturing carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere.

The second recognition was awarded to Parque Malwee, located in Jaraguá do Sul (Santa Catarina)—a space that combines environmental preservation, education, culture, and sustainable leisure.

Textile technology for CO₂ capture

The Ar.voree project proposes a new application for textile technology by incorporating carbon-capture functionality into the garments. According to Grupo Malwee, each T-shirt produced using this technology can capture up to 12 grams of CO₂ every 25 wears, without compromising qualities such as comfort, durability, and aesthetics.

The initiative highlights the potential of textile innovation to develop solutions that go beyond the traditional functionality of clothing, incorporating environmental attributes into the product and contributing to a more sustainable fashion supply chain.

Malwee Park: preservation and environmental education

Also recognized by the Expressão de Ecology Award, Malwee Park is one of the Malwee Group’s standout environmental initiatives. Located in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, the park preserves an area of 1.5 million square meters, featuring 16 ponds, over 35,000 trees, and 133 cataloged bird species.

In addition to preserving biodiversity, the space promotes environmental education, cultural, and recreational activities, bringing the community closer to topics related to conservation and the responsible use of natural resources.

Grupo Malwee expands its track record of recognition

This year’s awards extend Grupo Malwee’s track record at the Expressão de Ecologia Awards. With these two new trophies, the company reaches a total of 11 accolades, reinforcing a commitment to initiatives driven by innovation and environmental responsibility.

The result also highlights sustainability as one of the business’s strategic pillars and reinforces the company’s role in building a fashion industry that is more innovative and committed to addressing environmental challenges.

By combining textile technology, environmental preservation, and positive-impact initiatives, Grupo Malwee demonstrates how sustainability can be integrated across various fronts of the fashion supply chain—from product development to the conservation of natural areas.
