Abit presents a preview of the Brazilian fashion set to hit the Milan runways
A press event in São Paulo previews an international initiative that will take ten sustainable Brazilian brands to Milan Fashion Week.
On September 9, 2026, Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) will host an exclusive meeting with the specialized press at its headquarters in São Paulo to unveil the “Brazilian Sustainable Fashion in Milan” international initiative. This project will take ten Brazilian brands—recognized for their sustainability practices and attributes—to Milan Fashion Week in Italy, one of the key events on the international fashion calendar.
The initiative is carried out by Abit in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) through Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), with the support of the Brazilian Sustainable Fashion Association (Abrimos).
During the preview, the specialized press will have access to looks from the collections developed by the ten selected brands, as well as an overview of the initiative’s objectives, the internationalization strategy for Brazilian fashion, and the opportunities that participation in Milan aims to generate for the companies.

The selection brings together companies that stand out for developing products with sustainability attributes and that represent diverse perspectives of Brazilian fashion. Participation in Milan aims to boost these brands’ international visibility and connect them with key professionals in the global market.
Sustainable Brazilian fashion in the international spotlight
The program in Italy will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, a period when Milan hosts buyers, journalists, influencers, and industry professionals from around the world for Milan Fashion Week.
On September 22, the ten Brazilian brands will present their collections in an exclusive fashion show scheduled for 2:00 PM local time. On September 23 and 24, the program will continue with a showroom focused on generating business and fostering relationships with buyers and other international market players.
The initiative seeks to position Brazilian fashion as a benchmark for creativity, innovation, quality, and sustainability, expanding the presence of domestic companies in strategic markets and strengthening the perception of Brazil as a supplier of high-value-added products.
Internationalization and promotion of Brazilian fashion
For Fernando Pimentel, Superintendent Director of Abit, the meeting in São Paulo represents an opportunity to bring the press closer to the initiative and present the objectives of this international effort: “The meeting we are holding in São Paulo will allow the press to learn the details of this work and closely follow an initiative that reinforces the positioning of Brazilian fashion in global markets.”
The initiative is also part of ApexBrasil’s strategy to expand the international presence of Brazilian companies and connect them with buyers and partners in strategic markets. The initiative is also part of ApexBrasil’s strategy to expand the international presence of Brazilian companies and connect them with buyers and partners in strategic markets.
“The initiative in Milan represents a unique opportunity to expand the international presence of Brazilian fashion and connect our companies with buyers, partners, and opinion leaders in strategic markets. The preview held in São Paulo anticipates this agenda and allows us to showcase the creativity, diversity, and innovative capacity of the brands that will bring sustainable, high-value-added Brazilian fashion to the international market,” states Maria Paula Velloso, Business Director at ApexBrasil.
For Francisca Vieira, president of Abrimos, collaboration among organizations and institutions is essential to expanding international recognition of sustainable Brazilian fashion: “Brazil has the fashion that the world desires and the planet needs, yet the world needs to know this. This requires planning, investment, and a joining of forces through associations like Abit and Abrimos and institutions like ApexBrasil, the government’s main export promotion agency. In this way, together, we can promote luxury fashion with high added value.”
With “Brazilian Sustainable Fashion in Milan,” the country’s industry expands its presence in one of the world’s leading fashion hubs and creates new opportunities for companies that combine design, innovation, quality, and sustainability in their products.
