20th edition of Minas Trend promotes good deals for Texbrasil brands
The 20th edition of Minas Trend provided good business deals for the 13 brands participating in Texbrasil (The Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) that presented their S/S 2018 collections at the event’s business salon, organized by the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). Thanks to invitations from the Program, this edition hosted a group of six buyers and five international journalists between April 4 and 7 at Expominas, in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG.
Altogether, the brands Apartamento 03, Fabiana Milazzo, Feriado Nacional, Intima Passion, Liziane Richter, LN Deluxe, Lucas Magalhães, Maria Pavan, PatBo, Patricia Bonaldi, Patricia Motta, Sol e Ondas and Victor Dzenk signed deals worth U$641,000, with expected sales of U$400,000 during the next 12 months. According to Minas Gerais fashion designer Victor Dzenk, the brand had a positive reception from all the international guests who visited his stand. “They complimented the collection and said that they sell a lot of the brand outside of Brazil. We did excellent business with buyers from Chile. This is the second edition where they placed orders and we carried out sales,” he stated.
Another designer celebrating the successful business deals was Simone Jordao, in charge of the commercial area of LN Deluxe. “We landed a new client from Peru who made an excellent order and who, in addition to the order at the trade show, complemented their purchases at the brand’s cash-and-carry showroom. Meanwhile, the client from Argentina, who had already bought from LN Deluxe, also loved the collection and placed a new order,” she said.
At Minas Trend for the first time, journalist Carly Banegas, from the Bolivian magazine Cosas, said that the event agenda was very enriching in terms of her understanding of Brazilian fashion. Gabriela Moreira, meanwhile, from Uruguay’s Flur Magazine, was present for a second year at Minas Trend: “I was impressed with the way that the event has matured and is increasingly presenting greater quality in its products,” she said.
Altogether, 201 exhibitors from the garment, footwear, handbag, bijoux, jewelry, and accessories segments presented their new products at the 20th edition of Minas Trend, which also included the participation of more than 10,000 visitors, including about 2,800 shopkeepers, 270 journalists, 180 digital influencers, and 7,000 special guests who attended the fashion shows and presentations that are part of the event schedule.
