2Rios and Sweetcacau confirm attendance at Curve NY
From August 2 to 4, the Javits Convention Center in New York will host Curve NY, one of the most important trade shows in the beachwear and underwear segments on the east coast of the USA. The event draws an average of 350 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors from around the world, with significant influence on Central American and Caribbean countries. 2Rios and Sweetcacau are two Brazilian companies taking part in the event with the support of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
For this edition, Sweetcacau is introducing its S/S 2016 collection, inspired by the warm beaches of the Spanish city of Marbella in the 1970s, with cuts to please those who prefer Brazilian standards as well as those that would rather have a European cut. Highlights are ruffles, traditional handcrafting and the use of fabrics such as macraméed suede. This is the first time that the company, which has already shown at European and Brazilian shows, is taking part in a show in North America.
The brand’s representative, Roberta de Lucca, expects to increase sales in the USA. “We set the bases for selling our products in 2014, by establishing representatives in the United States, who will now have the opportunity to have direct contact with the client through shows. We believe that events like these are the best and most efficient channel for getting the brand out there, giving it a positive image and providing customers with credibility and confidence,” he says.
Aware of the importance of developing a quality product in combination with good publicity and strengthening of the brand across markets, 2Rios is introducing three S/S 2016 lines, inspired by neo-hippie culture: Sensitive Fashion and Sensitive Fit, with items created for women that value practicality and good taste, and Romantic Premium, which is a great fit for the North American market because of the lace, tulle and gemstones used to make these pieces.
According to the company’s president, Matheus Fagundes, it is important to not only show lines that contain the colors and style of Brazil in order to maintain the national identity, but also to have exclusive products that meet the specific needs of the market. “Curve NY has been on our calendar because it represents one of the best lingerie shows in the USA, a market where we began our internationalization process two years ago. The shows help us to grow relations with merchants and show launches and trends, but it is important to create actions for end consumers as well, working with the POS,” he says in closing.
