Aguinaldo Diniz Filho ends term with honors
In 2013, Abit President, Aguinaldo Diniz Filho, will end two consecutive terms at the helm of the organization.To close out this cycle, major figures from the textile and apparel industry honored him for his service to the industry.Honors were given at the ceremony, held on December 4 at the Association’s headquarters in Sao Paulo.
Abit’s current manager began his term in 2008. His most notable achievements were creation of the Jose Alencar Mixed Parliamentary Front for the Development of the Textile and Apparel Industry, meetings with political leaders and with public agencies, travelling Association meetings, initiatives such as the implementation of the Importometer and joint statements with organizations acting in the same area.Aguinaldo Diniz Filho also created the “Abit Merit Medal,” a distinction also given to him, which pays homage to figures and institutions that work to strengthen Brazil’s textile chain.The award was given to him by the Association’s Presidents Emeriti, Josue Gomes da Silva and Paulo Skaf, President of FIESP/CIESP.
“It isn’t every day that we can honor someone who has a 43 year long career at a company that is 144 years old.Aguinaldo is a worker who has always provided important services to the organizations where he has worked.He is tireless and a brilliant leader who has always proven to be very enthusiastic about the industry,” said Josue Gomes.
Paulo Skaf also lauded the President of Abit.”I’m so thankful that Aguinaldo has defended the industry tooth and nail.He worked intensely and knew how to conduct the Association and its future,” he said.
The Medal was not the only honor Diniz Filho received during the ceremony.The President of the Brazilian Association of Artificial and Synthetic Fiber Producers (Associação Brasileira de Produtores de Fibras Artificiais e Sintéticas – Abrafas), Renato Boaventura, gave him an honorary plaque.”He is someone who has worked advocating for prioritizing the domestic industry.We know that this has to do with the weakest link in the chain.That is why it is with great pleasure that I honor him for his performance and energy,” he added.
The President of Sinditextil-SP, Alfredo Emilio Bonduki, also paid homage to the Association’s leader.”There is nothing more just than lauding a manager like this. We won major battles and the partnership between Abit and Sinditextil-SP has grown significantly stronger during the years of his term,” he stated.
A portrait of Aguinaldo Diniz Filho was also unveiled at the ceremony; it will be placed in the gallery of Abit Presidents.The Union of Weaving Industries of Americana, Nova Odessa, Santa Barbara D’Oeste and Sumare(Sindicato das Industrias de Tecelagens de Americana, Nova Odessa, Santa Barbara D’Oeste e Sumare – Sinditec) also gave a commemorative plaque to the Association’s leader.
“All of the actions executed during the years of this term were made possible because of the support of board members.I must mention the partnership between Abit and Sinditextil-SP, which joined together and worked in tandem.A country changes with ethics and hard work,” said Aguinaldo Diniz Filho.
The traditional industry cocktail closing Abit’s 2013 activities was held after the ceremony.
