Beyoncé wears GIG Couture in new clip
Brazilian brand GIG Couture was among the brands chosen by Beyoncé in the styling for her new visual album “Lemonade,” released last Saturday (April 23). The songstress is wearing a knit bodysuit from the 2015-2016 S/S collection by the brand, which is a member of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
The look is featured in the “Sorry” clip was designed by Gina Guerra, a partner in GIG along with Patricia Schettino. Its jacquard patterns were inspired by panels designed by Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The garment was shown at Sao Paulo Fashion Week S/S 2016 and was custom-made for Beyoncé, who learned about the brand in New York, where GIG Couture can be found at the Seven showroom with the support of Texbrasil.
“You know those days where you wake up brimming with joy? That has been every day since I saw Beyoncé wearing GIG. She is a complete artist, she reinvents herself with each project and this has everything to do with our brand. I am immensely proud to see a star like her wearing the pieces we created,” says Gina glowingly. GIG Couture is taking its knitwear to the runways again on Friday (April 29) at SPFW.
