The 15th edition of Minas Trend took place from October 7 to 10 at Expominas, in Belo Horizonte, with nearly 15,000 people attending, including businesses, the press and guests. Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by ABIT in partnership with Apex-Brasil) was responsible for bringing ten international buyers and journalists to the event to see the work of the participating brands. And the outcome was positive: over the next twelve months, USD 1.1 million in business is expected.

Erik Grol, of Dutch boutique Fashion Parts, was among the guests. He took advantage of the event to learn about future partnerships. “After our trip, I noticed that the Brazilian fashion market is quite strong,” he says. Representatives from the United Kingdom, France and Portugal were also there, in addition to opinion makers such as Sidney Morgan-Petro, from the WGSN trend bureau, Elisabeta Tudor, of Modem magazine, and Santiago Giraldo, from the NTN24 TV network.

The business show gathered 288 exhibitors, with 24 Texbrasil members, including Andrea Marques, Printing, Gig, Patricia Bonaldi, Apartamento 03 and Totem. The event also hosted fashion shows by labels such as Vivaz, Mabel Magalhaes, Fabiana Milazzo and Patricia Motta. Motta, who is celebrating a 20 year career, commemorated the excellent reception of her products and the many contacts made at the trade show. “We have taken part since the first edition. Minas Trend is an event that has brought us great returns and that has gained a higher and higher profile, which is even proven by the buyers,” she says.
