Brazilian designers customize Brazuca ball for auction to benefit NGO

An auction started this week for FIFA World Cup™ balls customized by thirty-five designers from around the world, with all of the proceeds going to former Brazil team players Rai and Leonardo’s Fundacao Gol de Letra NGO. This project is part of the actions at Firenze4Ever, an event launching seasonal collections for the press and trendsetters that is executed by Italy’s Luisa Via Roma luxury boutique, featuring “Brazil, art and fashion” as the theme for this edition, as the result of a partnership with Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil).

Out of the thirty-five Brazuca balls, five were customized by Brazilian brands and designers: Isolda, Dudu Bertholini with Renata Abbade, Les Petits Joueurs and Patricia Bonaldi as well as TrendT, which is a member of the Program’s BtoBe (Brazilians to Be) talent incubator.

Bids can be made starting on eBay.The thirty-five balls will be sold over five weeks, with the ones made by the Brazilians going up for auction in the last week.The list of participants also includes Antonio Marras, Au jour le jour, Balmain, Co|te, David Koma, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Etro, Fausto Puglisi, Gareth Pugh, Gazzetta dello sport, Giuseppe Zanotti, Luisaviaroma, Manish Arora, Marni, Mary Katrantzou, MCM, Missoni, MSGM, N°21, Nana, Olympia Le-Tan, Pharell Williams, Rick Owens, Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Scognamiglio, Shourouk, Stefano De Lellis and The Farm.
