Canatiba launches new fabrics and receives international certification
Canatiba has launched new fabric lines for 2021. The brand, which is part of Texbrasil (The Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) — has also received a new international certification.
Among the fabric lines are Tecno Comfort, which excels in comfort and fit to the body and high elasticity; Megaflex, which includes elasticized fabrics that provide comfort in the most diverse forms and pieces in denim; ÉKO, formed by fabrics produced through ecologically responsible processes and with sustainable fibers; and Smart Denim, a new intelligent and functional generation, developed with innovative technology and finishing.
The brand also presented news related to its latest release: digital printing technology for denim. Canatiba has developed a set of prints, including plaid and florals.
Certifications
The Brazilian company also received a new certification, the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 (Class II). The seal covers all industrial stages, from raw material to product finishing, and guarantees the non-toxicity of the fabrics in direct contact with the skin.
Canatiba’s certification includes dyed fabrics made of 100% cotton, lyocell, or viscose, as well as blends with polyester and elastane, and denim with finishes.
The brand already has other international certifications such as BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals), HIGG INDEX (Environmental Performance Evaluation), and ÉKO DYE (Ecological Dyes).
