Inspired by nature, Dalai launches a capsule collection in partnership with plastic artists
The beachwear brand Dalai bet on a partnership with visual artists Carina Camargo and Veridiana Altma from studio Lúdico for its latest launch. The brand of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Exports and Investments Promotion Agency) — was inspired by nature to create its capsule collection.
According to Aline Moreira, creator and stylist of the brand, the pandemic brought a feeling of togetherness that made the brand decide to invite the artists to share how they created the pieces. “We wanted to combine art and fashion. We partnered with Lúdico’s plastic artists and proposed a theme: ‘The Sea’s view of us'”, explains Aline.
Carina and Veridiana developed the prints on a canvas. From the final design, Dalai extracted fragments to use in the collection, which has 100 pieces, including bikinis and beach cover-ups.
Also, the canvases created by the artists will be auctioned, and the money will go to charities in Ribeirão Preto, the Brazilian city of origin of the artists and Dalai.
“Our purpose with this collab was to create joy and freshness, to bring movement and sensations. Fashion has always reflected an era, a way to express personality and communicate. To be able to combine fashion and art is an immense satisfaction for us”, say the artists from Lúdico.
Not only it is already available in Brazil, but Dalai’s capsule collection has also won the world. The brand today stands out in the international market, mainly in the United States, driven by the children’s beachwear market.
