Delegation supported by Texbrasil at Colombiatex 2024 generates US$ 95 million in business expectations

The 2024 edition of Colombiatex took place between January 23 and 25 in Medellin, Colombia. The Brazilian delegation tallied the attendance of 42 companies, of which 35 had the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), which is the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency)

During the three days of the event, the group closed deals exceeding the USD 10.3 million mark, with expectations for the pursuance of more than USD 95 million in sales throughout the year. “This is one of the most traditional events on our calendar, and Brazil’s presence has grown year after year. In addition to Colombia, the fair is an important hub for negotiation with different South American countries and has attracted the attendance of Mexican and North American buyers”, declared Lilian Kaddissi, Abit’s executive Project superintendent.

Capricórnio Têxtil states that the event helped the brand to expand its operations to other countries in our region. “Until then, we used to export only to customers in Argentina, but at Colombiatex, we were able to map other potential buyers in Latin America, such as Peru, Ecuador and Paraguay”, explains commercial director Alexandre Correa. The professional also highlights the importance of the support he receives from Texbrasil, Abit and ApexBrasil, which helped him increase his contact network. “We have the sales perspective of at least 15 items from all lines”, he celebrates.

Another company that brought novelties that were well accepted by the market and is always looking for innovative solutions was Nilit “We were able to present the most sustainable polyamide versions, such as the use of biomass as an input for CO2 reduction”, highlights marketing director, Fabiana Andreoli.

Colombiatex is considered the main business hub in Latin America focused on the textile, machinery and chemical products segment. It counts on the attendance of visitors, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, representatives of textile and clothing inputs, as well as press from around the world. The next edition will take place in January 2025.
