Paula Raia launches sustainable collection with TENCEL™ and Canatiba Textil

06/01/2026

Brazilian designer Paula Raia unites art, sustainability, and textile innovation in a collection developed with TENCEL™ and Canatiba Textil.

Inspired by artistic and cultural references, the AW26 collection focuses on sustainable denim, original designs, and materials with a lower environmental impact.

Contemporary fashion is undergoing a transformation, driven by the search for innovation, purpose, and more responsible processes. It is in this context that designer Paula Raia presents her AW26 collection, developed in partnership with TENCEL™, the leading sustainable fiber brand of the Lenzing Group, and Canatiba Textil, one of the biggest names in the Brazilian textile industry.

The collaboration results in a capsule collection that combines original design, sustainability, and creative experimentation. Inspired by names such as Joni Mitchell, Lygia Clark, and Joan Mitchell, the collection proposes a sensory experience through pieces that move between architectural and organic forms, translating a contemporary vision of conscious luxury.

Sustainable denim takes center stage in the AW26 collection

The partnership features denim pieces—jacket, pants, shirt, and overalls—developed with different shades of blue and colorful marbled denim effects. The cutouts and contrasts reinforce the artistic character of the collection and highlight the versatility of the material.

According to Paula Raia, CEO and creative director of the brand, the aim was to combine designs already recognized by the public with the functionality and comfort provided by sustainable denim.

Sustainability as a Strategic Value for Luxury Fashion

The incorporation of more sustainable raw materials reinforces a commitment that is already part of the brand’s positioning. The initiative seeks to expand the positive impact of the production chain and encourage a more conscious consumption culture.

The TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers used in the collection are produced with at least 50% less carbon emissions and water consumption compared to conventional fibers, contributing to a more responsible fashion industry.

Lenzing, the company responsible for the TENCEL™ brand, was a pioneer among cellulosic fiber producers in establishing greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned with climate science.

Responsible for developing the fabrics used in the collection, Canatiba Textil contributes its expertise in research, technology, and innovation to elevate the quality of the garments.

With over 55 years of experience, the company has consolidated its presence in national and international markets, supplying fabrics to renowned brands in Europe and the Americas and continuously investing in solutions aligned with the demands of sustainable fashion.

For the collection, Tornado Maxskin fabric was used, a 12 oz denim composed of cotton, TENCEL™ Lyocell, and elastane.

Brazilian Fashion, Creativity, and Sustainability

The collaboration between Paula Raia, TENCEL™, and Canatiba Textil reinforces the potential of Brazilian fashion to unite creativity, innovation, and environmental responsibility. The project demonstrates how the integration between brands, the textile industry, and suppliers of sustainable raw materials can drive new possibilities for the sector.

The capsule collection has been available since April 28th in the brand’s physical store and also on Paula Raia’s e-commerce site, expanding access to pieces that combine original design, comfort, and a commitment to a more sustainable future for fashion.
