Rhodia increases production of polyamides in Brazil

The chemical company Rhodia, administered by Solvay Group and participant of Texbrasil – Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – increased 20% of its production of polyamide filaments, used in industrial and textile applications in Brazil.

The growth in production includes the use of modern machinery and equipment installed in the plant of the company Tork, in Osasco.  According to the newspaper Valor Economico, the company invests in the Brazilian market need for polyamide 6.6 filaments, especially the textured yarn used by Rhodia in making clothes, and high tenacity fabrics used in manufacturing of airbags, tire wires, conveyor belts and industrial sewing threads for shoes and upholstery, among others. The main requirement is the ability of resistance offered by polyamide 6.6, chosen for projecting significant growth in the segments in question.
