From July 16 to 19, the city of Miami hosted two of the world’s leading trade shows for the beachwear sector – the Miami Swimshow & Lingerie Show and Cabana. Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) supported the participation of ten Brazilian brands at the events: Sauipe, Lemons & Limes, Feriado Nacional, Lisa Riedt, Morena Rosa, Sol & Energia, Guria Beachwear and Despi for the SwimShow, and Adriana Degreas and Clube Bossa for Cabana.

Together, the beachwear fashion companies closed deals worth USD 372,000, with forecast sales of USD 2 million for the next twelve months. Adriana Degreas, participating for the second time at Cabana, which is famous for attracting premium beachwear and accessories brands, celebrated its success at the trade show. “Because it is a project with high levels of competence and success, the initiative brings significant visibility to the brand”, explained Nicole Degreas. The label, which is one of the leading luxury beachwear representatives in the country and a favorite with celebrities, presented its Summer 2017 collection at the trade show.

Marcia Hacker, of Sauipe Swimwear, also considered the company’s participation in the trade show to be very positive. “The results were better than we originally expected. Existing customers returned and placed bigger orders, and we opened new accounts too. This year, we structured the collection more efficiently, which promoted better sales and resulted in a more impacting presentation of the clothing”, she said. According to Marcia, Sauipe managed to make better quality contacts with relevant stores for the company’s items on the market.

For Despina Filios, Chairperson of Rio de Janeiro company Despi, the trade show is the best opportunity that exists, to showcase the collection effectively to a large number of potential buyers. “We had a high level of attendance among customers, who have been buying from us each year, and we now hope to sign other new business deals”, she concluded.
