06/01/2017

From May 24 to 27, the city of Fortaleza, in Ceara, hosted one of the biggest fashion events in the country, Dragao Fashion Brasil 2017. Celebrating 18 years of history, the edition was attended by four international journalists, who were in Brazil invited by Texbrasil – The Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

Opinion-makers Anna Ross, from the English bureau WGSN, German Romero, from the La Tercera newspaper in Chile, Victoria Lescano, from the Argentinian newspaper Page 12 and La Nacion and Patuska Knezvich, from the newspaper Publimetro of Peru, watched the 30 fashion shows of the DFB Festival, in addition to participating in a multicultural schedule composed of workshops and talks with relevant national fashion names, contests of new designers and musical and gastronomic attractions.

The schedule also included visits to the Vicunha Textil and Delfa factories, located in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, where journalists knew their production and technological processes closely. “It was very inspiring to have a vision of the Brazilian fashion industry as a whole. It really opened my eyes to the level of importance given to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices by this industry, both at the fashion shows and factory visits”, said Anna Ross.

According to the organization, more than 40 thousand people passed through the Fortaleza Passenger Terminal, which hosted the event for the third consecutive year. “The designers who participated in Dragon Fashion are very talented and the spirit of enthusiasm of the event as a whole is incredible. The Brazilian fashion scene continues to grow and flourish and it was so exciting to be a part of it”, the British journalist added.
