Vicunha Textil attended the 6th edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo from May 17 to 18, one of the country’s biggest shows in the segment, gathering producers of supplies for manufacturing jeans in the city of Dhaka. The indigo and denim manufacturer introduced its launches at the event with the support of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). As a result, the company expects to generate USD 1 million in business over the next 12 months, added to the USD 100,000 in business done during the event.

“Bangladesh is currently a very important market for denim. That is where one-third of jeans sold in Europe are made. All of the major brands are represented there, and it is a privilege for Vicunha to take part as the only company in the Americas at the event. We are proud to carry the flag for Brazilian denim at one of the world’s main manufacturing centers,” says Thomas Dislich, Director of Asia and Europe for Vicunha Textil.

Among the highlights that caught the attention of the international public are the Eco Recycle line, with denims based on sustainability and that contribute to reducing waste in natural resources during production, as well as the High Technology line, which features Dryarn® technology. “The big new products in our F/W 2018 collection also got a great reception; these items contain functional fabrics, with technologies aimed at promoting everyday well-being, with high performance Nilit®Fibers yarn,” says Thomas.

Bangladesh Denim Expo 2017 brought professionals together around to the biggest trends in innovation in jeanswear, with the participation of producers of fabrics, notions, yarns, fibers and threads for the sector. “Vicunha’s participation at the show was very positive. As with other international shows for this season, our stand received a lot of visits and the public was very receptive in relation to launches,” the director adds.
