The 81st edition of Pitti Bimbo, a traditional kidswear show that takes place twice a year in Florence, Italy, was held from June 25 to 27, 2015, at Fortezza da Basso, the city’s biggest expo center. Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), supporting six Brazilian brands at the event: Cristina Malhas, L’Ete, Lili Bag, Mini Us, Pacoca and Viva Flor.

The three days of Pitti Bimbo drew over 5,600 buyers, with a total of 10,000 visitors. The Brazilian companies did around USD 48,500 in business and expect to bring in USD 355,000 in the next 12 months. “This year’s edition was great for Lili Bag. The appreciation of the U.S. dollar made our product more competitive in the European market and an Arab buyer ordered 650 kids bags,” says Sheyla Rocha, the company’s Director.

Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, thinks that kidswear is going through an auspicious time for renewed confidence in the market. “I would point to the high quality seen in the brands that took part in the show. Pitti Bimbo always tries to expand its horizons with new projects and initiatives, in addition to promotional events that proved to be very effective for this edition, at which we also celebrated the show’s 40th anniversary,” he said.
