Apex-Brasil Week unites renowned names of fashion and design

The official opening of Apex-Brasil Week (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) happened today in Brazilian Design Biennial, in Belo Horizonte. As part of the agenda, until the 24th, the capital of Minas Gerais receives a symposium on design and fashion, bringing representatives of important brands and international education institutions. In addition to supporting the Agency in the event organization, the Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program)  promoted the coming of three journalists and four international buyers.

The main lecture will be held today by Pascale Mussard, representative of the French Institute of Fashion and from the brand Hermes. Tomorrow the agenda includes Yogo Takashi, from the Bunka Gakuen University (Japan), while Sass Brown, from Fashion Institute of Technology (USA), and Arturo Dell’Acqua Bellavitis, from Politecnico di Milano (Italy), will make their presentations at the last day (24).  Among the objectives of the event, one is to present the main innovations from international creative economy to Brazilian professionals focusing on the theme of “new luxury”.

The journalist group includes major international names: Nio Tatewaki, from niponic magazines Pen MagazineAxisinc and Bijutsu; Barbara Lorca, from the Chilena publication Paula, and the French Anne France Berthelo, from Ideat. Also included are five buyers interested in fashion and design. They are: Kazuya Tatsutomi, from objects and accessories shop Muji (Japan); Jose Luiz Pereira Braz and Valeska Meeder Molina, from Chile-Brasil Design; Kerri Sengstaken, from North American Style West, and Frederic- Rene Lourau, from the French multibrand Le Bon Marche. Guests will take part in business rounds and will get to know national brands focused on their markets of interest.

IV Bienal Brasileira de Design will take place until October 31 The event is an initiative of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), organized by the Government of Minas Gerais and the Industry Federation of the State of Minas Gerais, Fiemg.
