Brazilian beach fashion brands land in Miami
In July, the city of Miami, in the United States, will receive a group of 19 Brazilian beach fashion brands to take part in two important trade fairs dedicated to that segment: Miami SwimShow (July 22 to 25) and Cabana (July 22 to 24). Participating companies will count on the support of Brazilian fashion export programs Fashion Label Brasil, sponsored by ABEST, and Texbrasil, sponsored by Abit, both in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
SwimShow, one of the most important beach fashion trade fairs in the US Eastern coast, will count on the participation of brands affiliated to Texbrasil such as Despi, Feriado Nacional, Guria Beachwear, Karla Vivian Beach Brazil and Sol & Energia. Adriana Degreas and Clube Bossa will take part in Cabana, which gathers premium beachwear and accessories brands in a tent by the sea.
Having taken part in SwimShow for 13 years, the brand Feriado Nacional sees the event as a great business opportunity, in addition to be an export platform to reach other countries, and not only the United States. “It is fundamental to attend international events in order to sharpen our perception of how the foreign market works and look for strategies to internally adapt the company. And obviously, to close great business deals, establish new partnerships and expand our penetration abroad,” revealed Mr. Fernando Aquila, responsible for the company’s export department.
For fashion designer Adriana Degreas, Cabana is the one trade fair that better fulfills her brand’s needs, since it gives them a chance of dedicating exclusive attention to clients in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. “We have been taking part in the event since 2014, when it held its second edition, and since then our brand has been gaining space and consolidating itself among the main beach fashion players in the North American market, and in the rest of the world as well,” said Ms. Degreas, who will showcase the brand’s 2018 Summer collection during the trade fair under the theme “Brasiliana,” to evoke the spirit of Brazilian tropicalism.
Brands affiliated to Fashion Label Brasil such as Vix Swimwear, Água de Coco, Nannacay, Salinas and Lenny Niemeyer will take part in Cabana; brands Marta Reis, Mos Beachwear, Dalai Beachwear, Triya, Shorts.co, Gluck Rio and Amir Slama will attend SwimShow.
To attract purchasers visiting SwimShow, brand Dalai Beachwear has invested in a pre-trade fair initiative, by sending catalogues and marketing e-mail messages to purchasers. “With that we’ve been able to attract some clients and book visits so they can get to know our 2018 Summer collection,” said fashion designer Aline Moreira.
Mrs. Marcia Kemp, the fashion designer heading brand Nannacay, will showcase their resort collection during the Cabana trade fair. “We expect to expand our client base in the United States and attract new clients. Nannacay can currently be found in chain stores Moda Operandi, Net-à-porter, Lane Crawford, Ounass, Saks, Jcrew, Revolve, Kirna Zabete, Fivestory and Veronica Beard,” she said.
