The S/S 2016 editions of the Who’s Next and Mode City trade shows ended on Monday (July 7) with great business outlooks for 22 Brazilian brands that are members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil).The group did USD 1.4 million in business, with an expected USD 2.1 million in business over the next 12 months.

At Who’s Next, the traditional trade show welcoming the best casualwear and accessories companies, were products from Patricia Bonaldi, Anamaria Couture, Lucidez, Gilda Lacerda and A Camareira. For the third time in a row, the trade show was also attended by brands from Brazilians to Be (BtoBe), Texbrasil’s talent incubator. In addition to welcoming buyers that are already clients and rousing the interest of new prospects, the group was a hit with points of sale in the Middle East and with one of Japan’s best known multi-brand stores.

“We felt that the project is really consolidated and has gained the confidence of those that attend the trade show. Even the newer labels, like Nosotros and Reptilia, had great acceptance from visitors,” says Evilasio Miranda, Texbrasil’s Fashion and Design Manager. In addition to these two brands, incubator participants include Gralias, Trendt, Cyn by Cynthia Hayashi, Karin Feller, Der Metropol and Gabriela Sakate.

Mode City gathers beachwear, lingerie, swimwear and underwear exhibitors, 70% of which are foreign. Labels representing Brazil at the event were Bia Brazil, Limonada, Feriado Nacional, Acquaclub, Intensify Me, Despi, Desiree Nercessian, Kiminis and Vix.
