Brazilian Texbrasil and Fashion Label Brasil brands take part in initiative in Japan

06/22/2016

Brazilian fashion brands Andrea Marques, Farm, Colcci, Karin Feller, Hope, Blue Man, Scarf Me and DB Rainbow, all of which are members of Texbrasil (Abit‘s Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) and Aragem Rio, Cecilia Prado, Cia.Maritima, Lenny Niemeyer, Osklen, Paula Ferber and Vix Swimwear, members of Fashion Label Brasil (ABEST’s Brazilian Fashion Industry Value-Added Internationalization Program), both partner organizations of Apex-Brasil, have been on sale at department stores in Japan, such as Sogo & Seibu and Isetan, since May 30.

This initiative is part of the Be Brasil – Tasteful Life program, launched by the Agency in partnership with Japanese importer Ikemitsu Enterprises, seeking to position typically Brazilian products in Japan’s biggest retail chains through actions at points of sale and communications strategy on social networks and in the Japanese media. With the support of the Brazilian Embassy in Japan, the project not only includes fashion, but also other fronts of actions, such as beverages and food, for example.

In order for products to reach Japan, Apex-Brasil and Ikemitsu promoted a series of missions with potential buyers from Japan coming to Brazil. From February to May 2016, a total of six major importers from segments of interest in the Be Brasil project came to see Brazilian companies and negotiate purchases. Other actions are planned for the next five months within the project, aimed at keeping Brazil within reach of the Japanese public.
