Companies at Colombiatex are notable for their innovation and creativity

On January 27 to 29, 2015, the city of Medellin hosted Colombiatex, one of the main Latin American fabric and supplies trade shows. Fourteen member companies of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) are among the over 500 exhibitors: Britannia, Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro, Covolan, Farbe, Delfa, Digitale Textil, Expor Manequins, Rosset, Santanense, Tavex, Vicunha and Zanotti. Each brand is preparing to show their innovations to a public of around 26,000 people, made up of retailers, wholesalers, the press and attendees.

Britannia, a weaving company producing ribbons, bows and appliqués, is introducing Tresse, a line of shiny braided fabrics with a texture that imitates jeans. Among the latest in jeanswear that Canatiba is bringing to the show are the Beauty Denim line, which has technology that improves blood flow, and Dual Core, an elastic and highly resistant fabric. Cataguases is launching its S/S 2016 collection, Summer Trips, with sophisticated construction in crepe, viscose and cotton satin. Cedro is introducing the latest generation of Top Denim Super Stretch, fabrics with a very high stretch potential and high recovery, and a line of colored fabrics made using LYCRA ® DUALFX technology, which provides a more comfortable feel and less misshaping.

Among Covolan’s launches are two-sided fabrics and a collection of prints with different applications, geared towards kidswear and womenswear. Delfa, which develops cups for lingerie, sportswear and beachwear, is showing its Aumentax and Fitness line. Expor Manequins is bringing Changing Faces to the show, a line developed in partnership with the Netherlands’ Hans Boodt Mannequins, which allows the mannequin’s face to be changed according to the occasion. The Digitale Textil printmaker is showing its innovations in digital printing for beachwear and fitness. Farbe is publicizing its products in the following lines: Devore Fly, following the trend in transparencies; Gobble Fly line, with an upscale look; Fillato, characterized by high performance; and Lino Neo, knitwear made using a mix of viscose and linen.

Rosset is preparing to show its digital print fabrics made using technologies including compression, which promotes versatility in cutting the piece and an ideal fit to the body. The S/S 2016 collection from Santanense promises fabrics, colors and patterns with a retro feel, as does Tavex, which is introducing the Fitness Denim Line, with constructions that have a vintage look similar to 100% cotton fabrics.

Vicunha Textil is introducing the ®Evolution concept, offering various creative possibilities, since the original color of its fabrics is processed according to the degree of chemical and laundering processes, creating a special and unique look. And finally, Zanotti, an elastics maker, promises to bring its latest launches, serving various segments, such as apparel, lingerie, hospital products, footwear and even automobiles.
