The newest participant in Texbrasil (Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – Cris Seleme, is betting on the Program to promote its democratic fashion to the world.

Created in 2019 by Cristina Seleme, the brand came to make a difference. “From the beginning we understood that it’s not just about clothes. Besides all the economic and sustainable processes involved, we are responsible for the desires, sensations, and self-esteem of several women,” comments director Karina Lemes.

“We try to dress well regardless of size, always considering every detail so that each piece becomes really special,” she adds. Karina reveals that when Cristina created the brand, one of the niches she intended to attend was the plus-size market. For her, in addition to the diversity of sizes, Cris Seleme’s goal is to be a democratic brand. To meet the needs of the Brazilian market, the company has an e-commerce site with national coverage, as well as a store in the south of the country.

With two main collections per year (fall/winter and spring/summer), Cris Seleme produces approximately 500 pieces per month, including capsule collections launched throughout the year.

For 2022, the company intends to conquer the international market and is counting on the support of Texbrasil. “Our expectation is to grow with strong purposes, and to be seen in the market due to our differentials,” affirms Karina. The first stage will be the participation in Coterie, which will have an in-person edition as of February 27.
