Dash Studio, a Santa Catarina-based print design  studio and member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — a partnership between  Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – has announced that it intends to expand its operations to Europe this year. The studio’s prints are already in collections on the continent thanks to Dash’s participation in shows such as Premiere Vision Paris and Inspiramais, events supported by the project.

According to Fabio Rodrigo Ramos, Creative Director of New Business, there is so much demand for the products from European buyers that the team is looking for an agent to apply a new growth strategy, focused on countries such as England, Spain and Germany.

“While doing business at the shows, we noticed that these markets really identify with our work. They like our tropical prints with exotic elements and love maximalist art. That is why we want to serve these customers year-round,” he says. Fabio also says that in addition to hiring an international agent to help foster business between shows, there are plans in the near future to open a brick-and-mortar unit in the region.

Other continents

The team is also looking at the option of attending more international shows. With the Asian market in mind, there is a chance that Dash could take part in a design event in Tokyo, Japan, and even in Premiere Vision Shanghai. “Another market that is interested in our colors and prints is Latin America. We won’t even need to adapt our repertoire to attend Colombiatex,” he says in closing.
