From April 1 to 4, a group of representatives from the DöhlerScavone, Ober, Suominen e Fibertex  companies took part in a roadshow geared toward companies in the technical and nonwoven fabrics segment that visited six Mexican cities and was organized by the team at Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – held through a partnership between (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).

Aimed at creating an ideal environment for business prospection, the trade mission was used an individual meeting model. For this edition, each executive took part in an average of ten meetings held in the cities of León, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Puebla, Monterrey and Mexico City.

This was the second time participating in a Texbrasil roadshow for Laerte Guião Maroni, Commercial Director at Scavone: last year, he went to Colombia. Laerte says that the mission was a very good opportunity to find new business.

“The meetings at partner headquarters added a lot to prospection. It’s a true immersion that ends up providing macro information, which touches on everything from local consumer habits to partner potential and even different product applications,” he explains.

He also says that the agenda had many lessons. “It’s definitely a chance to go further.”

According to Oliver Tan Oh, with the Program’s Competitive Intelligence team, the meetings were very productive. “The companies left with excellent perspectives for the coming months and even years, since negotiations are for major projects which can have longer terms,” he says in closing.
