Eight Brazilian brands show new collections at Coterie

A group of eight Brazilian brands have arrived in New York to participate in the F/W edition of Coterie. The traditional women’s apparel, accessories and footwear show takes place from today to February 28 in the city.

Among the womenswear companies bringing launches to the event are SkaziPatBoSophia HeggSerpuiCaleidoscopioClaudia Arbex and Maria Dolores along with fine costume jeweler T. Arrigoni. All are members of internationalization programs sponsored by Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency); Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a program done in partnership with Abit; and Fashion Label Brasil, promoted by ABEST (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers).

“We expect this year’s Coterie to be one of the best. It is a traditional show and we are bringing Brazilian brands that have all of the potential to grow their internationalization plans even more,” says Lilian Kaddissi, the Executive Manager of the Texbrasil Program.

Coterie began in 1986 by joining various showrooms, as well as national and international brands. It also welcomes renowned international retailers in addition to featuring a space dedicated to new contemporary fashion designers.

Created in 2003, the goal of the Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers is to strengthen and promote Brazilian fashion and design. Its chief aim is to assist in developing Brazilian brands with an international scope and to ensure the authenticity and creativity of each of them, in addition to publicizing the Brazilian lifestyle as a way to contribute to the growth of all segments connected with fashion.
